Even though I am bit busy during these days still i find time to unearth my memories to look back at my childhood days. So, i thought of spending few hours for blogging about my early school days. I was born and brought up in a small village called chipli-lingadahalli near sagar. LingdaHalli is having around 10 houses and in chipli there are around 20. Two villages are separated by a small lake which is called ‘chipli kere’. The village is surrounded by forest and aracanut farm. Arecanut is the main source of income for all the families in the village.
Below is a map of my village..
I studied from 1 to 7 in my village school. There were not many students in the school. Totally there was around 120 students and 3,4 tachers in the school. Our headmaster’s name was guru basappa who was good at heart and teaching. But, i think since he had lot of family probems it was not possible for him to take right care of us. If am right he retired from work when i was in 5th standard. From then onwards, Venkataramana mestru became the head of the school. Most of my class mates left their studies after 7th and started working as daily wagers to earn their leaving. The school was around 15 minute walk from my home . But we were walking through the forest and plantation to save 4,5 minutes.
My Primary School
I used enjoy the walk a lot a during rainy season. I still remember i used to hide my slippers in the forest and walk in the bare foot to enjoy walking through the muddy water on the roads. And also for the sake of one or the other fruit that was available in the forest. To name the few, kavli hannu, salle hannu, sampige hannu, mull hannu, nerale hannu and many others.. Really i am missing them a lot… Our school timings was from morning 10.30 to to evening 4.30. We used to go to school at around 10 am. We are supposed to clean all the class rooms and corridor each day and there was a time table for that. After that we had parayer and daily one person was assigned to read the subashitha in the board. when i was in 6th and 7th standard i used to give caution for the prayer . Drinking water was also not available near the school. We used to bring the water from a near by open pool. During these days my best friends were aditya and sreekumar but, now I don’t know what they are doing since I am not in touch with them. I Hope to meet them again in my journey of life.
Till 7th standard I was a typical village guy but, my my life started changing slowly when joined H shivalongappa High school in sagar after 7th. I will be back soon with more older golden memories………….
