At least after 60 years of India’s independence, Supreme court has raised its voice against dividing the country on basis of caste. But, just to retain their vote bank our politicians/government’s are fighting against this decision like anything. The concept of reservation might have worked well at least for few years after India’s independence. But, in last 60 years India’s economic condition has changed drastically. India has emerged as one of the powerful countries in the world.
When constitution was framed equality was declared as one of the basic foundation stone of the democratic India. But, by dividing people on the basis of their caste i don’t know how equality can be achieved. We can see a Brahmin (the so called upper caste) guy begging on the streets and at the same time a SC guy at the presidents post. But, still why reservation on the basis of caste ?. If at all if reservation is required then it should be on the basis of once economic condition but, not on the basis of caste.

I 100% agree to this. There cant be fooling around any more. I am gladened at the views supreme court adopted after the recent quota saga.
