An awesome track from Gaalipata

Jayanath Kaikini is creating a fresh lyrical romantic wave in the Kannada Film Industry from past one year with his back to back hits like Anisuthide… (Mungaru Male), Ee Sanje… (Geleya), Adhe Bhoomi…(Ee Bhandana) & Ninindale…(Milana). His latest offering is “inneli nanage ooligaala” from the movie ‘Gaalipata‘ which is directed by Yograj Bhat of ‘Mungaru Male‘ fame. I just listened to this song from the Gandhadagudi forum. This time, unlike his previous hits the music is provided by Harikrishna instead of Mano Murthy. Even though the music is not much different from his earlier hits, lyrics is excellent. The lyrics of the track goes like this…
Minchaagi neenu baralu, nintalliye malegaala
Bechhage nee jothe giralu , kutalliye chaligaala
Virahada bege sudalu, yadeyalee besige kaala..
Inneli nanage oligaala…
I hope this song will create waves all across the state once the audio of the film is released.

Hey Pras,

Nice to see your comment about Ninnindale… Its such a fantastic song! The lyrics, music and the voice behind it…Just WOW! I came to know of this song’s existance only a few days ago, even though i had known about a famous song from Milana, I was not interested, but once i listened to it fully, I just couldnt stop playing it back and forth!! Its such a gem of a song… Picturisation didnt catch me, though. Probably Punith effect!

At the same time, Picturisation of Ee Sanje Yakagide is a splendor! I have very few words to describe the criativity thats on display in that song, If you wanna feel that song, click here.

And about the new song, it has to still go well with the audience…Though I feel there is that Manomurty magic that is missing… What amazes me with Manomurty is his songs are so melodramatic, but still he uses highly simplistic swaras!

And yes, the lyrics…no doubts about the quality when Jayanth is around. Thanks a lot for introducing this song to me.

Minchaagi… starts off well. But in subsequent stanzas lyrics appears unusual. For such a touching tune lyrics appears mis-match. words such as Chandaadaara, varadigaara I think have never been used in kannada lyrics. That is the strength of kaikini. But if you ask me Yograj Bhat has done a better job with awesome lyrics in “Nadhim dheem tana…”. At least for this album Yograj Bhat appears a better lyricist than kaikini!

Before you blast me let me tell you I am a die hard fan of Kaikini, still…

hi badari, There is nothing wrong in your words to blast you. It all depends on individuals interest. I am pretty much impressed with kaikinis lyrics in this song than the tune. I didnt feel anything special in that tune. I think use of some special, rarely used words is what makes jayanth so special & different from others. Even yograj bhat is also good at this. Lets see whether they will able to recreate the magic or not.

Hi Folks, good to see this reviews in this forum., One thing I wanted add after watcing this movie yesterday., Alhtouhg I am not against the playback singers from north but after watching the movie yesterday I felt Rajesh’s voice could have been used for Minchagi instead of Sonu Nigam as he cannot match the class of Rajesh Krishnan., It appears clearly in the movie in 2 scenes where Rajesh has sung Anisuthidey Yakoo song and his trying to sing a sad song which his class and why he is such a great singer.., I really fail to understand why he has not been considered where he deserves to lend his voice for some beuatiful trakcs…

No offence on any other singers but thought it should be highlighted…

cheers
